About Classic Wax Sports Cards
As a lifelong collector of sports cards, years ago I started buying collections from all over. My love for wax wrappers and vintage sports cards gave me the idea to create a unique and nostalgic repackaged sports card product in authentic wax wrappers—just like so many of us had the pleasure of ripping into back in our childhoods. It’s a feeling you can now experience whether its for the first time or all over again with Classic Wax Sports Cards.
What stands out about Classic Wax is the nostalgia, the quality, and the variety. We give you the chance to pull iconic trading cards from the 1950’s to today in your choice of sport: baseball, basketball, football, or hockey.
Why Wax?
So many of us who collected sports cards and non-sport trading cards prior to the 1990’s have a nostalgic connection with wax wrappers. Pretty much all cards were distributed in wax. The word itself, “wax”, is still known across the hobby and used by some to describe new products today… even though wax isn’t actually used!
I’m personally a huge fan of collecting old wax boxes and even rare wax packs. Oddly enough, part of the attraction is the awesome artwork and colors on all the vintage boxes and wax packs. And the older the boxes, the more detailed the artwork. (A lot of the old Topps boxes actually had artwork that was hand drawn!)
Our Real Wax Wrappers
A few years ago I decided I wanted to do some research and try to recreate authentic wax wrappers just like the old ones we used to love tearing open. What I found from doing research is this would be much more difficult than I originally anticipated. All the printing equipment used decades ago to make the wax wrappers was now nowhere to be found. The process was basically extinct.
After some time, I finally found a partner that understood the entire process and was able to bring my idea to life. Now I am excited to bring back the adrenaline you feel when you pull your favorite player from our unique Real Wax Wrappers.

Our future plans include original hand-drawn artwork done by upcoming artists, so that we can continue to bring you new, fresh, and one-of-kind designs on our packaging that we are very proud of.
